Description:
Bethlehem was a monthly social, ethical, historical, literary, and humor magazine. Its two owners were John Khalil Dikrit and Issa (Basil) Al-Khoury Bandak, the latter who served as mayor of Bethlehem from 1946-1951. The magazine was published ten months a year, and in the remaining two months, the magazine send its subscribers inside and outside the country with a valuable book. The first issue of the magazine was published in September 1919 and it continued publishing for two years. Bethelehem is considered to be the magazine that laid the literary foundation for other newspapers and magazines published during the British Mandate period in Palestine.
