The first issue of Ittihad Al-'Ummal (The Workers' Union) was published in 1925. Headed by Z. Hasidi, the paper was printed in the Al-Salam press in Jerusalem; its Hebrew title was printed on the banner as well. The paper was the voice of workers in Palestine and published articles about the problems and rights of workers. In its first issue, the newspaper stated: “For the same purpose – the goal of the union of all workers in Palestine with different races and religions is to become one indivisible mass – We are publishing our newspaper to strengthen the bonds of the, union on the one hand, and to defend workers’ interests and rights, on the other.”
