The manager was Jurji Habib Hanania, and its editor-in-chief was Sheikh Ali al-Rimawi. The newspaper promoted reform, enlightenment, and a multi-party political system, as mentioned in the newspaper’s editorials.“Multiple parties must be created tomorrow. The country must argue over its conflicting desires. Whatever the party, and regardless of conflicting aims, our newspaper will always be an unadulterated Ottoman newspaper that supports the people's rights and aspires to serve the country with complete sincerity.” The slogan of the newspaper was: “Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood.”
