Description:
Misbah al Haqq (Lantern of Truth) was an Evangelical monthly published from 1938 until 1940 in Jerusalem. According to the introductory column in the first issue, the magazine’s aim was to strengthen the religious belief of its readership. Thus, it was not attempting to compete with other contemporary journals but rather took upon itself the task of illuminating the right religious path. The journal’s mission was to prove the truth of God and the New Testament through scientific articles elucidating religious issues. Roy Whitman was a young emissary who studied Arabic and later moved to Amman where he founded an evangelical church. He edited Misbah al-Haqq from Amman and published it in Jerusalem.
